FAT WINTER FISH!

Use big baits and hooks to help avoid the smaller fish!

Fat winter fish!

Snapper fishing has slowed down with the cooler weather. Alot of small fish around with the odd good fish among them. Use big baits and hooks to help avoid the smaller fish and be patient. There are a few deeper spots still producing regular good size snaps but these areas are fairly exposed in this unsettled weather.

There are some very nice kingies around though they are well scattered. We have been nailing some nice fish on the deeper reefs but in the last couple of days we have also managed good kingies around the bait schools in the bay area so not as exposed to the indifferent weather we are having, which keeps us alert!

The squid fishing off the wharf has been very good lately and the average size is now getting to be on the large size. We have a lot of fun catching and eating these guys and gives us something to do on these cold winter nights. And you don’t have to be out all night, if you don’t want to, just take an hour or two with the kids from around 6pm! Perfect holiday activity, lots of FUN and very YUM!!!
