Snapper, Trevally, John Dory, Swordfish, Kingfish... all waiting for you!

More lovely winter fishing days around the corner!

Winter is here just passed the darkest day of the year, but still lots of fantastic winter fishing days to come! The still, crispy days out are amazing!

Fish have moved into winter mode for another month or so. The winter mode is sometimes a bit tricky to find the good fish in, but patience and just enjoying a lovely day out is a great recipe.

The snapper are either deep or shallow. Stray lining with burley is the way to go in the shallows and using live or large baits will help totarget the larger snapper. There have also been good numbers of John Dory and Trevally around in the shallows so a lively is a good idea while waiting for you stray line to go off.

The 50th International Yellowtail Tournament last week was a great success with 38 teams competing. The weather was very kind and the fourdays were fished in extremely calm conditions. That is winter fishing at its best! Some good fish caught as well as tagged and released, but more importantly a great time was had by all. Looking forward to next year’s event already.

Swords are still around so take advantage of the weather windows and get out there!

The night activity is increasing since the Squid are around in good numbers and now are getting bigger! A great way to spend a calm winter night.

Tight lines
